The Future of Biomedicine — Congressional Event (117th Congress)

On December 8, 2021, I submitted a formal statement for the 117th Congress at the U.S. House of Representatives briefing titled The Future of Biomedicine. My statement addressed how public and private research infrastructure must evolve to meet the demands of next-generation science — from AI-driven discovery to cell and gene therapy manufacturing.

Drawing on SmartLabs’ national experience, I outlined how modular, technology-integrated laboratories can strengthen the country’s biomedical supply chain, improve translational readiness, and enable faster responses to public health emergencies. I emphasized that the modernization of biomedical research isn’t just a matter of funding — it requires rethinking the systems, spaces, and data connectivity that make innovation possible.
