Mass Innovation Labs adds “Innovation Suites” to Kendall Square facility — BioSpace
BioSpace covered the launch of six modular “Innovation Suites” at Mass Innovation Labs, designed to support early-stage research teams within a shared, professionally managed environment. These flexible units allowed small companies to operate with the same standards, infrastructure, and technical capabilities as large pharma—without the burden of building their own space.
This period also marked the beginning of what became the Universal Lab Framework—a modular architecture and operating system for laboratory environments that I conceived and developed. The framework introduced scalable, standardized design logic across chemistry, biology, and process development labs, forming the foundation for the SmartLabs platform that followed.
